Formed in 2004 by Kimi Raikkonen, Steve Robertson and David Robertson, Raikkonen Robertson Racing has become one of the most prominent teams in the junior levels of formula racing.  Using the experience and expertise that saw Kimi Raikkonen rise form the junior levels of the sport to Formula One World Champion, the team provides an environment to help develop and train young drivers from across the world. 

Competing in its first year of British F3 in 2005, the team took its first win in its 11th race weekend.  In just its second year in F3, the team won the championship, following a dominant performance by now GP2 driver and Honda F1 test driver Mike Conway.  The team won 14 races that season, including five wins by Conway’s team mate Bruno Senna. 

In 2007, Double R joined the Formula BMW UK championship, winning in only its third race, with Czech driver Josef Kral. The team went on to take a total of four wins that season, to finish third in the team standings.

In 2008 Double R were proud to be one of only three British teams to take part in the new Formula BMW Europe championship. The Formula BMW Europe championship sees drivers from 16 years old race at several European rounds of the Formula One World Championship.

The team is based on the outskirts of Woking in England, and also had a permanent test facility at the Pembrey circuit in south Wales.
